Photo Composition

It has been some time since my last post. I just finished up my fourth semester at Northern. The past couple weeks have been pretty crazy with studying for exams and finishing projects. It feels very good to be done. This post sums up my photography class. I did other projects for photography, but I'm only posting my best one here. I will post again about my web design class.
My intention in this piece was to make the viewer as uncomfortable as possible. The composition is a metaphor for emotional pain. So matter how hard you try, you just can't seem to reach the wound. If only you could touch it - if it were something tangible - maybe that would make it feel better. Before long, you resort to anything just to get a break from the pain.
I took all the photos myself and used simple masking to layer them. The wound is made of textures set to different blending modes. I also did some hand painting with a tablet to make the wound look bloodier, make the skin look sore and add the vertebrae.
