The St. Peter Cathedral in HDR
by Joe on Mar.11, 2011,under Photography
The latest exercise for photography class was on HDR (High Dynamic Range). The process involves taking several exposures using a tripod, then combining the images to create a 32 bit image that contains data from the darkest darks to the brightest brights.
I had many problems with the combining process in Photoshop. There were random lens flares scattered around the photo and areas of chromatic abberation. If I used the "remove ghosts" option, the color appeared to only have 8 bits. So, after some cloning, healing and adding/removing exposures this is the result. I would like to experiment more with HDR in the future to hopefully refine the process and eliminate whatever caused all the problems.
